“Our stay at the Self Catering Farmhouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed. Fabulous week's stay at the self catering farmhouse with our 6 dogs. It rained for the whole week but did not dampen our enthusiasm for the wonderful grounds and the house itself. The master bedroom was huge with a really comfy four poster bed together with an ensuite complete with a roll top bath, just perfect to get into after yet another soaking walking the dogs!
The farmhouse itself was very clean and warm with huge sofas to collapse onto during the evening. The dogs loved the stream at the bottom of the garden. If there was one thing we would like to have changed it would be that the stiles at the end of the garden were dog friendly but not sure that this would be within the farmhouse's control anyhow?
The two pubs at the bottom of the lane were not in walking distance as the hills are very, very steep and I wouldn't fancy the journey in the dark but they are well worth visiting. The Ancient Briton has a brilliant real ale selection and we had a lovely lunchtime meal at the Pen-y-cae Inn. Two very different types of Inn within walking distance of each other. The farmhouse and its position exceeded our expectations in respect of privacy and comfort and we will definitely be returning again. An absolute definite for owners of multiple dogs.
